War Historian. My last book, « Il Capo », a biography of general Luigi Cadorna, is a critical analysis of the relationship between Military and Politics in modern Europe. My topics are: cultural war history (19th and 20th centuries), social military history in modern Europe, history of literature and mass media in the First World War, history of fascism.

Marco Mondini (1974) studied at the University of Pisa from which he got his Laurea, and at the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, where he got a Master in History and his PhD (2003) in Contemporary History. – He has been a Post Doctoral Fellow at the University of Padua (2003-2005) and a Research Fellow at the Scuola Normale Superiore (2006-2010). – Currently, he is a Researcher at the Istituto Storico Italo Germanico (ISIG-FBK) in Trento, where he is also team leader of the research project « 1914-1918 », and an Adjunct Professor in Military European History at the University of Padua. – He was a visiting fellow at the ENS of Paris (2006), a visiting professor at the University of Lille 3 « Charles de Gaulle » (2009-2010) and at the University of Paris 7 – Diderot (2013). – He is a member of the Centre International de Recherche – Historial de la Grande Guerre di Péronne, a section editor for « 1914-1918 online. International Encyclopedia of the First World War » and a scientific consultant for the Italian government office for the Centenary of the First World War. – He is also a coordinator of the research projects: « The Austrian-Italian front » (UMR Sirice – Inalco – ISIG-FBK – University of Padua) and « Science, communication and technology in Italy 1914-1918 » (funded by the Italian Centenary Committee).
